Mala Waldron is the child of two jazz pianists, most notably her father - pianist/composer, Mal Waldron. She is a prolific composer and lyricist as well as an accomplished pianist/vocalist based in the New York City area.  She has performed internationally in such places as France, Italy, Japan, China, Malaysia, Belgium, Russia and most recently Belarus.

Her CDs include "He's My Father" (duo with father, jazz pianist/composer Mal Waldron,) "Lullabye" (tribute to her godmother, Billie Holiday) and her most recent "Always There," which, in addition to being her first U.S. release, was also licensed & released in Japan by Columbia Records and voted one of the "Top 20 Jazz CDs of 2006" by Jazz USA.

Equally captivating on vocals as on piano, she has been compared to the likes of Patrice Rushen and Roberta Flack and Amina Claudine Myers (who was in fact one of her college professors.)  Her music has a broad and accessible appeal.  She draws inspiration from the various genres of music she was exposed to as a child, with the strongest influence coming from her jazz roots.

Mala is currently working on an EP entitled "Deep Resonance," which is set for release in early 2016.  If you'd like us to keep you posted on the latest happenings, sign up for the mailing list (just to the left.)
